FOLLOWING THE RELEASE of the short film Rhythms of the River, by Brooklyn-based designer and filmmaker Manabu Inada, Ben Miller came to the attention of SOUTH2 WEST8, a cutting-edge clothing brand based in Sapporo, Japan. Founded in 2003, the brand presents pieces designed with technical details suitable for fly fishing excursions. SOUTH2 WEST8 has evolved to include more urban-friendly options inspired by the outdoors, offering the duality of function and fashion.
For their 2022 and 2023 collections, SOUTH2 WEST8 featured details from several of Miller’s paintings. These designs were applied to a range of clothing, including jackets, hoodies, shorts, and more. Both Ben Miller lines sold out after being presented in Japan and the United States.
There will be a 2026 line coming out in the fall with many of the clothing pieces featuring the wordmark Endangered Rivers Projects.
